Co-operative businesses – are they the future?

Is a quiet revolution taking place? While the Wall Street banks and huge multinational investment firms seem to be carrying on as though nothing has changed despite the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, in communities across the country people are investigating alternatives ways to organize economies.

Companies all over the place are transforming themselves into co-operatives, giving their workers more of a stake in the success of the firm, and keeping profits within the local area. When the financial directives of government seem to focus on big business at the expense of the little guy, perhaps a grass-roots movement to transform the way we work is the answer to a better way of life.
