We share because we care

The “sharing economy” is a phrase that has got a lot more coverage in recent years, and there has been some debate about what it actually means and indeed whether it exists at all. Some people claim that it is a misnomer and that economic individualism drives even things that look like they are based on sharing (and usually a corresponding concern to minimize the impact on the environment).

This article looks at the controversy and makes the case that actually, Americans are sharing more and more – in terms of car share schemes, for instance – than critics would sometimes like to admit.
