Solar energy is free. Every second throughout the day, free energy is being blasted at the speed of light to Earth, and much of it is going to waste. Harnessing the power of the sun to supply our energy needs is a key component of a sustainable future, and can transform communities even where poverty is rife.
Often portrayed as a rich peccadillo, solar energy can empower poor people by getting power to the more than a billion people who don’t have access to conventionally produce (and environmentally damaging) electricity.
